At the initial consultation we will ask you to fill in a detailed medical history and will talk through any concerns that you may have.
At the dental chair the dentist will perform a check-up which includes an assessment of your gums and soft tissues (Oral Cancer Screening), a detailed examination of your teeth and x-rays.
Afterwards we will review your x-rays and discuss our findings with you so we can give you all the information and treatment options available. You will then be able to ask as many questions as you like, we want you to feel in control of your treatment plan and take an informed decision.
Please note that all the treatment plans will be devised and tailored specifically for each patient.
Oral Hygiene
Our hygienists skills' and knowledge together with your motivation will help you achieve good oral health. Regular maintenance appointments with our hygienists are important in our programme of preventive dentistry.
We cannot stress enough the importance of visiting the dental hygienist regularly. Our aim is to treat and prevent gum disease and tooth decay. It is important to keep gum disease at bay as it has been linked to other medical conditions such as heart disease, premature and low birth weight babies. If your gums bleed, please see the hygienist immediately as this is one of the signs of gum disease.
