Meet our hygienist Amy Stevens. GDC No. 24822.
She will work hard to educate and motivate you to maintain a happy, healthy smile.
Amy has worked in dentistry for more than 10 years; she first started her career as a dental nurse but quickly realized she wanted to care for her own patients and take on more responsibility. She moved from the West Midlands to study Dental Hygiene at the University of Essex where she qualified with a distinction and became a registered hygienist in 2013.
She graduated with two awards:
At first, Amy split her working week in both Essex and London but found Bishopsgate Dental Care to be such an innovative practice that uses the latest ideas and it is rare to have a work place where everybody genuinely gets along so well that she knew this was where she wanted to work, therefore she is now working there all week.
Amy enjoys the challenge of motivating patients to make small changes in their daily routine that make huge differences to not only their oral health but their whole well-being. In the future she would like to work with dental aid charities to help improve oral health in disadvantaged countries.
Amy enjoys living a healthy lifestyle and combines this with her love of food and cooking, she likes to make healthy recipes and her own version of tasty treats without processed sugar or dairy. At the weekends Amy enjoys good food and wine and dining out with her husband and friends. She has a passion for fitness and goes to the gym four times a week with a mix of HIIT and weight training and is also a keen runner.
She loves the sunshine and enjoys travelling a lot; some of her favorite places have been California, Kenya, New York, St Lucia and Mexico. As a keen cook she likes to pick up recipes from her travels to try and recreate at home.
